The story of Renée Discard is the story of a downfall. Renée is one of those sadly redundant people discarded by society. Her social decline started shortly after her birth when she was discarded by her parents. She then moved from one foster home to another and from her adolecense on from one mental institution to another never finding a permanent place to settle down, as she was always disliked by the people in charge. In midst of her constant misfortune, she did, however, maintain a staunch stoicism in her view of life. She figured that the destiny of mankind is that of social disintegration, and that one’s true, albeit deplorable, plight is that of complete and utter humiliation. She then formulated the famous philosophical sentence “I sink therefore I am”. As she was French her pronounciation of the word “sink” has later been phonetically misinterpreted in English as “think”. As hardships, permanent injuries and death is the everyday concern of a Blood Bowl player, Sir Harvey Lickbottom figured that Renée's view of life was just the spirit with which he needed to endow his players to give them the needed sense of fatality. Because of that he hired her as the team philosopher. As so often before in Renée’s life her current benefactor has now grown tired of her sulking and decided to take her downfall to the final stage: The Blood Bowl Pitch, from which no one eventually returns unscathed. In the PlayBall Troupe of Actors® she forms companionship with the French economic philosopher Lasse Faire, who, incidentally, is also her legal guardian.

She entered the team before the 5th round match of season 21, and she was killed in the 8th round match of season 24. She played a total of 29 matches for the team.
