Gark was adopted by Wally and Mildred Wunniesnark after they found the at that time 3 months and 100 pound ogre-baby in a huge rush basket on a raft on the Old River which runs through Greenfield. Apparently somebody wanted to get rid of the poor baby. Today, however, Wally and Mildred know why - Gark is incredibly stupid - even for an ogre which is why Wally has refused to name Gark after his own last name and instead has decided to name him what he is mostly known by - namely DORK.
