Once again DD smashed the, by otheres feared, Claw Killers, causing 5 casualties vs only 2. However, this time it was DD that had to fight to get a draw in the last turn as compared to their 3-0 win last time: Deadly Doom - Halfdead Clawkillers(season XII, 1/4-final).
Only one of the many old players on Killers did not show up (Peter L.G.) for the match whereas DD had acquired two extra Zombies for this match (Allan and Bill) and furthermore ar crazy DD fan, the mummy Rufulus, joined the team before kick-off.
Xorn was inspired by all the claws and from that he obtained some dirty tricks before the game.
And all these extra inputs on DDs team helped alot. Mainly it was Rufulus who did what the other mummies couldn't, making a SI on Otte B. in first half, which the apo had to heal, and then in second half he took out both byggemand bob, who was BH on the LoS in turn 1, and later Svin Blood who will have to miss next match. Also the two zombies did their job, staying on pitch all match, and one time each they took a stronger opponent down (one of each explosion - Killers choice :D). The first time it was even on the ball carrier, and it almost prevented the TD for 0-1 made by the Killers, and late in 2nd half Warrior Anubis was KOed in the same way. Xorn also used his new skill to KO a beast man, so good help for DD there!
Only Ramses the 5th of DD's own mummies managed a BH on Apophis, whereas dirty skelton Argos made a late foul on the feared Bi S.A., who hence have to miss next match as well.
In first half only Benny K. managed to inflict pain on DD but S. Finxter regenerated the SI, although only to get BH later by Ole, this time failing to regenerate.
Benny K. himself had problems with fan mummy Rufulus and was pushed off pitch in the last turn of the match, he did, however, kill some spectators out there and was only stunned himself.
First half became quite messy as a double skull in the first block by Killers saw them lose the chance to pick-up the ball. And two turns later Mad Max had stolen the ball in Killers reciving. When in turn 3 he was about to run for the TD, he decided to take a one dice blitz on the only Killer holding him back, but skull was RR to another skull and the killer caught the ball after several bounces. As many of DDs players were now off pitch (3 KO) the Killer ran the ball for the TD and it looked pretty sure. But it was upset by the fantastic blitz by the zombie taking the ball carier down. However, in the end Bo L. used his great agility to pick it up, and made a dodge and a go for it (without any RR) to score for 0-1 at the end of first half.
In second half DD had some problems with the strong opponents, but after some shifts of side on the pitch, and by slowly wearing down the Killers, some openings were made in the defence. However, the ball carier was downed once, before finally a failed dodge by Bo L. cleared a path to the end zone, and The Green Ghost ran for the tieing TD, but oh no! When he pushed it just that once over the end zone line, he fell on a double 1!
Luckily for DD (and the Ghoul) the only beastman who could reach the ball also failed his dodge, and the shaken (but not stunned) ghoul The Green Ghost staggerred to his feet and picked-up the ball still lying there in the end zone, scoring the tieing TD in DDs last turn. 1-1.
Both teams fans were satified with the tie and stayed with their teams, but where DD earned no less than 60 k nothing was earned by the Killers who on top of this will be missing two of their best beastmen in their next match!
