Match notes
The New hope of the Forest Rangers was utterly destroyed from the turn 1 blitz by the veteran team and top favourite Deadly Doom. Through the entire match DD were in possession of the ball at some time during all turns but one, whereas the Rangers only had the ball in a single turn. Apart from the blitzing start this came about due to the amazing 7 casualties inflicted by a raging undead team.

Before the match DD had hired Necromancer Kynde’s old friend Count Luthor the Vampire to join the team. He basically held the ball throughout the entire match scoring the first TD so it was a god buy. The elfs had no money and on top of that Oh-kon Cho did not feel ready for the match, so only 12 elves were ready against 14 undeads.

Just before the match DD’s players suddenly felt gloomy about the match, and did not feel in well training, but as the ball was kicked off by Benno Brausekopf II, and Ra came blitzing a hole in the Rangers offence, so Count Luthor could run and catch the perfect kick-off close to the middle of the pitch, DD never looked back and still had a RR left at the end of the half.

The elves did manage to take the Vampire down, as he were not to well protected, but he fell in a way that mad the ball fall within a couple of DD players zones. The next turn a subsequent pushing blitz left the ball uncovered by elfs, and Count Luthor gripped the ball and ran for safety. The elfs never got another chance to hit him during that half.

At this point Xorn had smashed the hip on Eun Young stealing from him the extreme speed he had built up during his practice. Also Jin Chul Joo had been KOed, and he never woke up to take the pitch again, maybe due to the steroids he had taken to increase his strength for the match?

With the ball now safely secured in a cage DD could begin focusing on removing elfs from the pitch, and in short succession Argos broke a rib on Sang-su Choe, Xorn fouled Joongang dong BH and Ra BH Hyung-mi.

And then before the half ended Count Luthor could take a carefree stroll over the EZ to make it 1-0. As the apo had been saved and the KO failed to wake up it was only 7 elves vs. 14 Undeads.

Ramses the 5th opened the 2nd half by BH Seong Myeong Hyun and he hence became a super star in Aros learning Guard (but also obtained an aging niggling!) And DD’s luck continued as the brilliant coaching helped rookie Enasni the Death Eater to obtain a completion, and thus he learned to block.

Soon Count Luthor had the ball in a cage at the mid line, and as DD moved down pitch, Ra took down two players at once, stunning the catcher and pinching the nerve on Syngman Rhee. Finally the apo moved on to the pitch and saved the line elf, but that was not to Argos’s liking and he fouled the poor elf smashing his hand giving him a niggling anyway! That was the last cas of the match. (Even with 5 fouls, 3 with the eye on, DD never had any player expelled, KOed, injured or in any other way removed from the pitch during the entire game! 9 elfs went out, only 2 on KOs, but they failed to wake up)

The next turn, the 5 remaining elfs could do nothing to get at the ball, even though Count Luthor tripped over his own feet on the first of two go for it, that he needed to score. The ball ended safely in a cage formation, and the few elfs could not even run to it, and next turn Mean Midget picked it up without trouble and scored the winning TD for 2-0.

There was still time for the last 5 elves to score, and with some amazing dodges after DD’s perfect defence Won-yong Kim moved into scoring position and Myung-Bak Lee made a perfect pass to him. But he was not out of reach, and Count Luthor got him down and picked up the ball for him self. A last effort by the elves made it a little more difficult for the Vampire to make the pass, and in the end his trouble with that made it too difficult for Enasni the Death Eater to catch it and the score remained at 2-0.

The MVP for the elfs went to Zayong Zo one of the 4 elfs remaining on pitch when the match ended, and of course DD’s new super star Ramses the 5th obtained the MVP helping him well on the way to becoming a mega star!

The fans choose to stay with their teams, and as usual DD only earned a meagre 20 k vs. 50 k for the elfs.

All in all, the match ended as expected, although the complete lack of resistance from the elves were unexpected as were the high cas count.

With the little money DD has earned during the last many rounds, it will be hard for them to make enough doe to hire Count Luthor all the way, but at least for the quarterfinal he will be there.
