By taking out all three of Deadly Dooms Ghouls, and then performing a series of fantastic moves in the second last turn Silverado Snakeskins won the game. First they had to get the ball carying Vampire down, and then Dr. Klawfinger could get to the ball and made a hail mary pass out of reach. Hence Silverado Snakeskins managed to prevent DD from getting the tieing TD, thus winning without overtime. Although SS lokked good before this last drive, it was never over until after this second last turn, as the Vampire Lord could have tied the game had the Kroxigor Rex failed to take him down.
A season record of 101.000 fans attended the game in the fine BB weather as all nigling players made the game, but Gucci was held back by the police after using his blocking skills at the local tavern the day before... Also Dr. Klawfinger found his shoes greased before the game and missed the first drive. Again the Vamire Lord Count Luthor von Drakenbourgh played for DD, and was one of the 3 only player to make anything important for DD today.
SS decided to let DD recive, and they were a little nervous so a bad kicks touch back was given to Eata Corpus. It was even more shoking when Ramses the 5th BH Ford in the first turn, but he was healed by the apotech. But SS soon regained their confidence when The Fifth Elefant counteracted by killing AG 3 Ghoul Snufitt Wice in their first turn. Snufitt Wice hence lived up to his name by dying again: SnufitTwice, living up to the performance of his idol, Rigor Mortis, who did the same in last seasons play-offs (also in the games first turn!)
DD soon came in some problems, especially when 3 turns later The Fifth Elefant did it again, although this time he only BH The Green Ghost the "slower" of the two AG4 Ghouls. But then DD hurried in for a TD made by Count Luthor.
It looked very promissing for DD when they came blitzing out after the kick-off, and Count Luthor took a 3 dice blitz on Adam, but he stayed on feet and moved under the ball and caught it on a 6. So althoug the blitz made it much harder for SS, Adam moved the ball to the other side of the pitch and handed it to Darien.
This was a good move as Ramses the 5th went beserk for the second time this game and BH Adam in the next turn. Darien then tried to run out of reach, but Eata Corpus reached him and knocked him over, but SS emidiately got revenge as Baron Fritz took DD's last and fast Ghoul Eata Corpus out and he was luckily also only BH... In the same turn Rex SI Geleb Reanimated who later failed to regenrate. And then the ball was picked up by Silent Opposistion who then was completely out of DD's reach. But before he managed to tie the game, Argos fouled Rex KO, and he did not wake up in time for second half. But 1-1 at half time, after Silent Opposistion then tied the game.
DD was now down two man, and although it was made hard for the skinks, Darien managed to score already in turn two for 2-1.
A perfect lizzard defence, was tainted by yet another touch back given this time to Count Luthor. But when Rex was back on the pitch he made an important KO on Lex Liche the only tackle player on DD.
It was hard for the lizzies to get some serious blocking in on the Vampire, but after some turns when he ran down their pitch, he was downed. But he got up and blitzed the skink with tha ball, and hence got the ball back, and then he ran of again.
In turn 6 it looked good for DD. Count luthor was standing far down the pitch, with a skellie to help him, and several good moves had made it hard for the lizzies to get there. Amongst other Argos made a real casualty as he BH Tripping Of Little Feet. The first cas made by a DD skeleton ever. But then Benno Brausekopf II was SI trying to dodge. He regenerated after the match though. First time in 5 goes a DD player regenerates. (1 kill, 2 SI and a BH failed)
But then in SS's turn 7 they managed some truely great play. First a couple of skinks dodged and went for it, to get two TZ on the count, one as assist. Then a RR was used to get Rex free. He finally realized what to do (after failing a few times, once even when pro worked :P) and went for it once to blitz Count Luthor two dice, but he failed to get him down, and pro failed too. But then he went for it a second time and this time the Count went down on the frenzy block.
And then an unbeliving Necromancer Kynde had to see Dr. Klawfinger make the signature move of the match as he dodged through TZ and went for it, to pick the ball up and hail mary it out of reach down towards DD's EZ.
All hope was not lost, but when next turn Count Luthor was stunned, Argos had to pick it up go for it twice pass short to Brill, who should then dodge 3 times through TZ to hand it off (after two go for it) to Conan who could have catched it in one TZ and dodge only once to score. As this was the 3 skeletons on DD, it of course failed already on the pass which was inaccurate... ;)
And hence the game ended with a victory for the lizzies.
But Argos was elected MVP for his casualty and the heroic effort, going for it four times and picking the ball up and passing it without using RR in the last two turns. And hence he learns his second skill: Block.
Dr. Klawfinger of course got the MVP for his hail mary pass that basically secured the victory, or else the vampire might have tied the game.
SS only earned 40 k, and has not enough for a wizzard or star for the finals, whereas DD earned 80 k giving them 120 k for the 3/4 place. DD did not loose fans, but for some reason SS did again?
This concluded a very exiting match that could have gone both ways, but as SS manage to take out all 3 DD gouls (totally for Snufitt Wice) it seemed like a fair end to the game.
